Some of these look so yummy, you may be tempted to try them yourselves. Fetch!
This recipe was created by Dr. Ernie Ward, a member of Petplan's Veterinary Advisory Board. All you need is 1 cup watermelon and 1 cup ice cubes. Blend them together until smooth and then pour the mixture into a safe, freezable toy like a KONG or ZogoFlex.
The Watermelon Freezy recipe above can also be used as a ready-to-serve slushie. Simply blend it, and then put it in a bowl or in a KONG to have an immediate thirst quencher for your hot hound. You can also substitute the watermelon for blueberries or bananas if your dog prefers those instead. Feel free to enjoy this yourself, though you may want to add some sugar to your half if you like things a bit sweeter.
This recipe won the KONG Connect Recipe Contest. It was created by Nina Garcia from Orlando, Florida. It combines 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut, 1 cup granola (no raisins!), 1/2 cup pineapple and 1/2 cup peanut better.
