*The skinny on carob powder... everyone knows that chocolate is a big no-no for dogs. It contains theobromine, which is poisonous to dogs. However, carob powder, which comes from the tropical pod carob, does not contain theobromine and is a safe and healthy substitute. The powder resembles cocoa powder; but has a different flavour and texture. Carob powder is available at health-food stores and some grocery stores.
